Ok, I am on a pink kick. Last two dress i have made are pink. Are the throws of winter making me think of warmer sunnier days? Who knows, anyway this pink dress No. 1. Whimsy Sarafan is a combination of several unfinished dresses that i had laying around in my photoshop files. Part fairy, part renaissance with tribal tats displayed gently on the fabric. My new flexi-sculptie cape is included.
I attempted to recreate the look of puckers on the sides of the dress top. Most of time I am trying to hide the the seams on the sides, but this time i accentuated them and tried give the top a more realistic feel.
In the white circle are the faint puckers down sides of dress top. Puckers on satin are wierd, the lights and shadows are key to achieving the desired look.
The strips of fabric on sleeves match the bodice top and belt. The belt and skirt are flexi of course. I never really used the satin fabric texture because i don't care for the way the texture has to lay beside the next on the flexi skirt. This pic does not represent, but i have since tweaked the skirt to look more natural.
The tribal design carries over to the bottom of the flexi skirt as well.
